Color blind? No, that's not it...

Color is amazingly important. Not only is our society and whole market based on specific color schemes, but our brains register certain colors ass associated with certain attributes. We all do it, except maybe when we are trying to prove the system wrong. Let me go into a bit of detail. I will explain a couple colors and give a couple of examples. For the record, many of these were pointed out to me by one of my favorite teachers, Mrs. Grant. She teaches psychology at my school and feel the need to give her credit for much of this information and much of my understanding.
Take the color blue for example - it represents cleanliness. Think back to your last water bottle, I'm almost positive it had some blue on it. Think on it, and do so honestly - if it had a yellow label, would you REALLY drink that water? So now think of your house cleaners - especially the window cleaner. It's blue isn't it? Funny thing about that is it is dye put into the mixture, made specifically to catch your eye and make you think that it will be cleaner than anything else because it is blue. Beautiful sales technique, it is how you make the money.
Next, we have the beautiful color of White. Okay, admittedly not a 'real' color - it is technically a shade of a color. That said, it means purity, piety, simplicity. Alright, so maybe it also means cheapness as well. As a sales technique, many of the off brand will have a lot of white. This is because when you see it, you will automatically understand that it is cheaper. The simplicity will make you understand it is not a big name brand. Also used when representing beings such as angels. White is used in many logos for charities, to emphasize their intentions.
Let's move to an energetic color, shall we? Red! Hah, well it represents pure energy, love, passion, desire, anger, danger. . . What a color, right?! Another AMAZING fact? It makes your metabolism work faster and increases your heart rate. So guess what geniuses use this? Think of your dive home, pass up a McDonalds? It has red everywhere! This is because they KNOW what that color does to you, and they KNOW it makes you want to eat there. Many restaurants will have a lot of red, while blue has the opposite effect so they will stay away from that color. Oh, now I have you thinking, do I?
Let me finish off this post with the color black. Such mixed signals, it so often represents death and evil. It also represents formality and grace and elegance and even beauty. Ironic, right? Think on it, the Black Death? Nothing was black about it, actually, I believe it was quite purple. Not only that, but you wear black to mourn death. Black is the color the bad guy wears in the movies, he rides a black horse... See a pattern? Yet, a black-tie affair screams of formality and beauty and elegance. Black roses represent mystery and suspense. Black is in some culture's thought of as rebirth even. Black has such differing meanings, but no it is not all bad.
There are plenty of other colors, but that is all the energy I have tonight. I will continue at some other time with less know colors. Possibly like purple is royalty and yellow is busy. I hope you enjoyed, and please share your thoughts with me.

Curiously,
